Helle Bank Jorgensen is the Founder and CEO of Competent Boards Inc.  Ms. Bank Jorgensen created Competent Boards in 2018 to keep board and executive competency fit for purpose through sustainability and climate upskilling. The Global Competent Boards Certificate and Designation (GCB.D) can be seen in governance documents around the world including GE, Moodys, Carlyle, Export Development Canada, Ontario Teachers Pension Plan, Vermilion Energy and many others.

Nearly 1000 board members, investors, and executives in more than 50 countries have participated in Ms. Bank Jorgensen’s visionary training programs. They provide insight into geopolitics, ESG, climate and biodiversity, AI, cybersecurity, human trafficking, disclosure regulations and other vital topics needed for stakeholder management and to execute and oversee company transitions successfully. 

Ms. Bank Jorgensen is one of the world's leading board advisors and has received many awards, including Canada’s Top 100 most powerful women award. She’s a regular contributor to Financial Times’  Agenda.

She serves at the Nasdaq Center for Board Excellence's Sustainability and ESG Insights Council, the Ethics and Compliance Initiative (ECI) Blue-Ribbon Commission, and the Judging panel of Diligent's Modern Governance 100, among others.

She is the author of the Amazon bestseller "Stewards of the Future: A Guide for Competent Boards" and is currently writing a new book with the working title: "The Future Boardroom." 

 

Ms. Bank Jorgensen trained as a business lawyer and an accountant. She was a partner at PwC in Copenhagen and later New York, where she served as the leader of PwCs sustainability and climate change practice, working with Fortune 500 companies, SMEs, and investors.
